The widow next door…the fatherless down the street…the homeless man on the corner. The outcast at school…the lonely in the pew next to you…the sick in the hospital. The elderly in the rest home…the addict on the street…the homeless in the city.
The divorcee’ in your church…the prisoner behind bars…the handicapped at the workshop. The man who’s lost his job…the woman who’s lost her health…the couple who’s lost their child. The awkward…the lame…the misfit. The hurting…the broken…the outcasts…The lost in need of a Savior.
God sees them all, and I wonder if He doesn’t pose the same question to us as He did to Isaiah, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8)
The times and circumstances were different for Isaiah, but the need for God’s people to answer His call to service is the same today as it was then.
Here’s Isaiah’s answer, “Here am I. Send me!” What’s my answer? What’s yours? –Dave
