Out of the Mud

Romans 6_4_Out of the Mud

“You don’t need to clean up your old life – you need a NEW life!”

I don’t remember where I first heard it, but it rang true with me.  How many of us have personally thought we needed to clean up our act before we could ever approach God?  Or, how many more of us have heard others say something similar?  We try and we try to get our life right, but always seem to fail.  The reality is that someone wallowing around in a mud pit can’t get themselves clean – they need Someone outside the pit to lift them out.

Friends, if you’re trying to clean up an old life, your efforts might be pretty futile.  But, if you’re looking for a brand new life, look to Christ – for only He can bring new life out of old. –Dave

We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (Romans 6:4)
