Contaminated Water

Revelation 7_17_Contaminated Water.

The Recall Notice from the FDA caught my eye – not because recalls are that unusual, but because of the name of the product and the nature of this recall.

On March 7th, 2019 McDaniel, LLC recalled their product because it was contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.  Mmmm-Mmmm-good!  I’ll spare you the details, but Pseudomonas can be a nasty, nasty bug.  To quote the FDA’s recall notice, “Use of the contaminated product has a remote probability of necessitating medical or surgical intervention to preclude or reverse permanent damage to a body structure or function.”

The immune systems of most healthy individuals would probably stave off any problem, but if susceptible folks were to use the contaminated product, it could get ugly.  So the FDA rightly recalled it.

Are you ready for the irony?  The product is called “Life-Line Water” – which the manufacturer touts as “Catalytic Activated Energy Water.”  Ha!  This product that purports to energize the people who ingest it, could actually cause them great harm.  It promised to be a life-line, but could lead to death.

As I considered the information above, the similarities to the promises of man-made religions flooded my mind.  Each and every non-Christian religion promises to be a life-line for its adherents.  But if Christ be the only real life-line, the only path to the Father (John 14:6), then every other option may as well be water contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa – empty promises that lead only to death.

Folks, if those around us are dabbling in anything other than the Life-Line that is Christ, they are headed for an eternity contaminated with death and darkness.  Today is the day to extend to them the Life-Line of the gospel.  –Dave

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. (Revelation 7:17)
